IN-DEPTH PROFILE

→ GENERAL.

GENDER: Male.
AGE: Unknown.
SPECIES: Shinigami.
SEXUALITY: Heterosexual, presumably. Uninterested, for the most part. But I think that if he could marry his job, he probably would. IT'S VERY SERIOUS, ALL RIGHT.
THEME SONG: "Darling," by Eyes Set To Kill.
APPEARANCE: Standing in at around 5'8", Kira doesn't have a whole hell of a lot of leverage when it comes to his height. He's thin, with a slender bone structure, though he does carry quite a lot of lean muscle on his limbs, and he's definitely far from being helpless. He has a head of light blonde hair, blue eyes (which is canonically debatable, but I'm just going to go with blue to make my life easier), and is fair-skinned as far coloring goes. His hair is longish, kind of, and there's typically a large portion of it that hides his left eye at all times. He has an appealing, open face, though his body language tends to border on awkward -- unless he's in the middle of a battle or a heated argument.

→ BACKGROUND.

PERSONALITY: The core of Kira's personality revolves mainly around his need to be loyal to those he both respects and looks up to. He seems to be a very focused, determined man whose ground isn't easily shaken when it comes to what he realizes he needs to do. This is especially proven when he protects Ichimaru Gin from his longtime friend Hinamori Momo's attack after she discovered Aizen Sousuke's mutilated body. While he is a fiercely loyal person to all those that he cares about, he ultimately puts his actual job and duty before above all else, and he is extremely set in his beliefs when it comes to honor and morality. His quiet, subdued personality may not seem like much at first, but he is lethal and fierce opponent to go up against when he is protecting something and/or someone.

Unfailingly polite, Kira is by no means an outgoing man with an overwhelming personality. He prefers to stick to the shadows, closer to the background, where he is able to remain the reserved and quiet individual that he is known to be in canon. He's able to hold up a decent conversation if the situation calls for it, though he's probably not going to really go out of his way to make said conversation very exciting. He is what he is, basically, and the only time he ever really offers any sort of apology for anything he's done is after he discovers that Gin betrayed the Soul Society (and consequently used him to advance further with his collaborated plan with Aizen in the process). There's a lot about Kira that remains to be a well-blanketed mystery, as he never really seems to open up to anyone about himself or any personal problems he may be having. To an extent, he doesn't see the point in sharing his feelings with others, and this is probably because he views it as something of a weakness that he will be judged negatively for.

Before all else, Izuru Kira is the 3rd Division lieutenant of the Soul Society. Though he may fumble his way through most social situations, he rarely ever falters or hesitates when it comes to his job; he takes it incredibly seriously, and it's probably one of the main things that he happens to be most sensitive about.

ABILITIES: Like all Shinigami, Kira is extremely agile and strong. He excels particularly in combat with certain weapons (such as his zanpakutou), though he's able to fight hand-to-hand if has no other means of defending himself. As the lieutenant of the 3rd Division, he is a rank above most other Shinigami, and with good reason. In combat, especially, he is very focused and driven, and not much is able to shake him from the steady reserve he slides into once he draws his blade. Whether he is fighting friend or foe, he's not likely to bat an eyelash, and he will pursue his opponent until he is either defeated or until he defeats them. His zanpakutou, Wabisuke, is also able to bend into the shape of a hook once it is properly released with the spoken command: "Raise your head, Wabisuke." When it is in this form, Kira is able to add "weight" to his opponent when he strikes them with his blade, thus eventually enabling them from attacking him.

WEAKNESSES: Unfortunately, because Kira is blindly loyal, he also has a terrible habit of being misled and taken advantage of -- something he doesn't realize is happening until it's already happened. There are times when he doesn't really seem to think for himself; he instead reacts solely on gut instinct and emotion, and it often ends with him damaging himself or the people he cares about, whether it be physical or not. He seems to hesitate and pause at the exact moments where he shouldn't. Any sort of bad feeling he gets when it comes to the people he respects or admires is typically brushed away, and he doesn't focus on the negative in the people he cares for when he really, really should. His hesitance is often a subtle danger that rarely presents itself as a problem until the worst has already come of it.

Ironically, even despite the fact that Kira tends to react based on emotion, emotions in general can be a major problem for him. He seems to have a very difficult time in actually expressing what he wants to say, or what he actually means when he does say something. While he's by no means a cold person, he can often seem a little detached, or not in the same exact place that everyone else around him appears to be in. He struggles a great deal with confrontation, and he seems to have more issues than the normal person when it comes to being put into uncomfortable situations. Meaning, he doesn't really know how to react, and he'll usually become easily flustered or tongue-tied when inserted into an unfamiliar environment.

He's also horribly hard on himself when he does realize that he happens to be at fault for something. While he appears to be rather forgiving of people who wrong him, he can't seem to get over his own personal demons and the guilt he feels when he makes a mistake. It often becomes extremely disabling, and he tears into himself to the point where his stability begins to fray and crumble. It's inherently selfish of him, of course, and he realizes this to an extent, but it doesn't really stop him from feeling what he feels.
